Connie Stevens was born on the 8th of August, 1938 to Paul Ingoglia, a musician and Eleanor McGinley, a singer. Her birth took place in Brooklyn. Even though everyone now calls her Connie Stevens, it is noteworthy that her real birth name is actually Concetta Rosalie Ann Ingoglia.
During her childhood, the actress who is of Italian and Jewish descent, had to go live with her grandparents when her parents divorced when she was not at her grandparent’s she was at boarding school. But when Stevens was twelve she had to be moved once more this time to Missouri when she was a witness to a murder.
Stevens showed interest in music quite early in life. This was perhaps because she came from a musical family as well.
Her Acting Career
Connie Stevens’ first foray in acting happened in 1957, with a role in the teen film Young and Dangerous. Between the years 1957 and 1958 she appeared in five films, and it was one of these five films that gave the actress her first big role, and the role was in Rock-A-Bye Baby. Stevens had gotten the role because of a recommendation by Jerry Lewis who had seen her in a television show.
When Stevens first started out she was signed to Paramount studios and with them, she made the first five films of her career before they ended her contract with her. Warner Bros. then swooped in and signed a seven-year contract with her but they mostly put in television shows all of which would change when she started to build a career in music.
She has since gone on to star in more than 70 films and TV series over the years, winning admiration with her work onscreen.

For Stevens, who was coming from a family of singers this was not a problem for her and in 1958 she released a self-titled debut album Concetta.
