Kate Norley is an American veteran of the Iraq War who served as a physician and mental health specialist for the United States Army. She owes her popularity to her “military love affair” with British comedian John Oliver, winner of several Emmy Awards.

Kate Norley was born in 1983/1984 in Arlington, England.Virginia in a wealthy family. Her parents separated when she was 4 years old but the two continued to contribute effectively to her life. However, her mother’s next husband, Dennis Mannion, also took on paternal duties as a stepfather. Dennis Mannion is the senior vice president of business for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL).

Norley described her mother Pam Mannion as a very kind and compassionate person who is selflessly committed to volunteering. Norley revealed that her mother’s kindness was part of what motivated her to serve others.
Pam has previously worked with Project Rubicon, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing disaster assistance in some of the most dangerous and underserved areas in the world.
Norley’s biological father, Walt Norley, is a golf course designer who collaborated with the legendary Jack Nicklaus to design golf courses in Florida. He is the founder and CEO of the OneGolf team.
Kate attended boarding school at Episcopal High School in Arlington, Virginia. At the age of 16, Kate was on her way to bicycle football practice when she was hit by an out-of-control driver. She suffered a severe head trauma that robbed her of her cognitive skills. Kate had to learn to write and proofread again.

Inspired by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks that devastated the United States, Kate decided to enlist in the military to serve in the war in Iraq.
Even her selfless parents were a little troubled by her decision, Stripes reports. While neither of them tried to dissuade her from the decision, they questioned her out of curiosity to find out the reasons for such a discouraging decision.
His parents were able to learn that his decision was born out of his concern for the underdogs and the underprivileged.

His first week in the army was scary, to say the least. A 7.62mm stray bullet slammed into his roof and landed on his chest; fortunately, she was not injured. Although it would have forced some to rethink, undeterred Norley kept her head in what she signed.
She arrived first at the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. Norley served as a combat nurse in Fallujah and a mental health specialist (the only woman) in Ramadi, where she counseled soldiers returning from combat.

During her 16 months abroad, she cared for Iraqi children, encouraged Iraqi women to help rebuild their country and also reached out to students at the University of Baghdad.

She also became a veterans rights advocate for Vets For Freedom. The organization founded in 2006 aims to defeat terrorism. The group also supports politicians who demonstrate consistency in their goals.

One of Norley’s goals is to create a non-profit organization run by women, devoid of politics and religion, with the goal of empowering women to rise up into the Third World.

Kate Norley met her future husband while working with Vets For Freedom at the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. John and his team were there to cover the event for his Daily Show.
When convention security officers chased John and his crew for trespassing in a restricted area, Norley helped hide them, and the rest, as they say, is history. They exchanged e-mails and became friends, then lovers, then married couples.
They married in October 2011 and, according to US Weekly, in 2015 they welcomed their first child, a boy named Huson Oliver.
John revealed that meeting Norley changed his perception of the United States.
“I’m a little more defensive of how America is perceived abroad. America gets a lot of well-deserved exploitation from the rest of the world. And yet, when something terrible happens, people are waiting for the Americans to fall from the sky and help them,” John told the Boston Globe in September 2015.
John is also very proud of his wife’s accomplishments. He once told People Magazine;
“It’s the most emasculating thing I can do to date someone who has actually done something valuable with their life.”
John Williams Oliver was born on April 23, 1977 in Erdington, Birmingham, England. He gained popularity in the United States from 2006, when Jon Stewart invited him to join the Daily Show as a UK correspondent. Oliver quit the Daily show in 2014 and started his own show on HBO called “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver”.
Between 2010 and 2013, Oliver ran his own comedy-central John Oliver show in New York.
