Savannah Bananas outfielder Dr Meadows stuns fans by making an incredible BACKFLIP CATCH in exhibiti
Catching a baseball out of the sky is a tough enough task as it is, let alone when throwing in a backwards somersault beforehand.
But for Savannah Bananas outfielder David 'Dr' Meadows, such a stunt is part and parcel of touring the country with one of America's most popular exhibition teams.
On the 21st leg of the Bananas' four-month tour of the US, Meadows produced an astonishing backflip catch against sister outfit the Party Animals in Hartford on Monday to leave fans in disbelief.
Party Animals star Reece Hampton first struck the ball up into the sky before it began its descent towards Meadows at center field.
Yet instead of simply taking the catch to dismiss Hampton, the former CSU third baseman got in a backflip while simultaneously collecting the ball.

It was a spectacular maneuver from Meadows, who previously stunned fans with an equally-impressive diving catch last year.
Several users took to social media to express their dismay at his latest catch, with one posting a clip of it on X and simply writing: 'What the actual f**k?'
Baseball analyst Jeff Goodman wrote: 'Holy s**t. This is INSANE.'
Another commented: 'I need to go to a Bananas game'.
One came to this conclusion: 'This is the coolest catch anybody will ever make'.
While another said: 'Baseball needs this excitement'.
The Savannah Bananas and Party Animals play under Banana Ball rules - a fast-paced format of baseball which includes unique rules.
In Banana Ball, teams are not allowed to bunt, while batters are permitted to steal first base and fans can catch foul balls for an out.
The former CSU third baseman still pulled off the catch despite throwing in the somersault
Meadows earned his first Bananas call-up from operations coordinator Berry Aldridge last year
Meadows received his first Bananas call-up from baseball operations coordinator Berry Aldridge for the second half of the team’s College Professional League season last year.
'My favorite part of playing with the Bananas is definitely their fan base and the opportunity to just be myself as a player, he said in September 2022. 'We have a lot of different players from around the country who are unique and we just play well together as a group, but the fans that show up every day are awesome to be around. It’s great making a kid's day because I was once that kid watching.'
The Bananas still have nine legs of their US tour remaining, with Brockton, Massachusetts their next destination on Wednesday.
